Oak Ridge HOA Leadership is Needed
Posted on Jan 7th, 2023
The OAK RIDGE HOMEOWNERS' ASSOCIATION, INC is comprised of 7 board members, elected every two years by the membership, at the annual members meeting.
The 7 board members then reaffirm or promote officer positions from within at their next board meeting.
During the Covid pandemic, no board meetings or annual meetings were held. The President, Vice President and Secretary all moved or resigned, leaving a Treasurer and three board members who are not willing to assume officer roles.
Aside from keeping the non-profit corp in active status, handling general email questions, estoppel questions, and handing out "welcome packages" to new homeowners, the Oak Ridge HOA has been non-functional for the past 3 years.
Soaring home values and the usual worries about overzealous HOAs have decimated membership, which is a mere $50 Voluntary donation. Efforts to recruit dozens of new homeowners have not resulted in a single new membership.
Restrictions that prevented our ability to hold a public meeting are no longer a barrier, but our meeting venue closed permanently during the pandemic.
The remaining three members of the BOD will attempt to secure a new location for April 2023, and mail out meeting invites to all homeowners of Oak Ridge.
All seven Board of Director positions are up for election.
Please forward any nominees, or items you would like to have added to the agenda to bod@myorha.org
If we cannot secure enough volunteer board members to continue the HOA, a vote will be taken to dissolve the non-profit corp and donate the remaining funds on hand to local charaties per the bylaws.
